Want to buy a tablet and confused what to buy. Here is comparison of Apple Ipad2 and Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1
OS
Ipad has iOS 4.3 while the galaxy tab has android 3.0. My personal choice is android as it is user friendly and an open source OS. I can make changes to my OS as and when I need.
Resolution
Galaxy tab offers a full HD resolution of 1280x800 while Ipad has 1024x768. Higher the resolution, Higher the picture quality. So +1 point for Galaxy tab here.
Thickness(Dimensions)
Galaxy tab again takes a point here as is 8.6 mm compared to apple ipad which is 8.8 mm thick.
Weight
Apple Ipad2 : 601gm
Samsung galaxy tab 10.1: 595gm
Looks like Samsung made their tab by improving everything of ipad 2 by just a little amount. Nevertheless +1 point again for galaxy tab.
Micro SD card slot:
There is no micro SD card slot in ipad 2 while a galaxy tab has one.
So guys, You shifting to galaxy tab 10.1 now from ipad2. Wait there are more features to come.
Camera
Front: Ipad2 has a front VGA camera (0.3 MP) and 0.7 MP fixed focus rear camera. Galaxy tab 10.1 beats Ipad2 here too with 2 MP front camera and 3 MP rear cam.
Bluetooth
Galaxy tab supports Bluetooth 3.0 while ipad supports 2.1 +EDR(Enhanced data rate). And not forget about Bluetooth issues with apple products. They only connect with other apple products. +1 point for Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 again.
Both the tabs have almost same battery backup and other features not mentioned. So now, If you want to buy a tablet my vote will be for Samsung galaxy tab 10.1.
